All Aboard: PASPAC Podcast's First Blog Post

Welcome to PAS-PAC, your audio& web passport from Physician Assistant Student to Certified (and beyond!) with your travel guide & host, Rebecca Harrell, MPA, PA-C. PASPAC has so many awesome resources to check out that it's definitely going to take some time to explore. But do NOT be discouraged, I've been through this before—and got your back. To help you get started, I'll walk you through the basics of what's available on PASPAC and how to best utilize our resources for your benefit.

FYI Right up front, (it should go without saying, but just in case...) our website, podcast, blog, and resources are intended for general information purposes below and does not establish a provider-patient relationship, represent the host's employer, nor substitute as medical advice from your licensed healthcare provider.

Our Destinations:

PASPAC aims to be the most comprehensive audio & web resource for Physician Assistants in training and beyond.

PASPAC aims to be the most comprehensive audio resource for both Physician Assistants in training and PA-Cs alike with special bonus episodes designed for Pre-PA Students interested in the career. While (excitedly) awaiting the release of our podcast's first season check out our website and Instagram (@paspac_passport) to see how we can help you thrive wherever you are on your PA journey. Though resources are available on our website now, we're bringing you even more content with the podcast which has plans to cover the high yield of each core rotation, various elective rotation and skills breakdown, PANCE topic reviews, mixed question review sessions, Q&A Info sessions, special guest speakers, and new graduate resources for preparing for and landing your first job, credentialing and licensing, and keeping up with your CMEs (plus, honestly...so much more).

Boarding Pass and Itinerary:

PODCAST COMING SOON

Once our podcast's first season launches, you can get started by listening wherever you listen to podcasts and downloading the show notes and episodes from this website to integrate them into your notes.

After our release, if you're are a fan of the podcast, we encourage you to subscribe, review, and return to the blog/website to submit your questions for our Q&A episodes and/or interest in becoming a guest speaker on an episode!

Take off & Coasting Altitude:

Didactic /Clinical Year Resources

While awaiting our first season, please check out the resources linked on our websites resources page. We do not get paid for any of these resources and truly used them ourselves to succeed during PA school! Also included in our listed resources are notes templates and Quizlets made by your trusty tour guide (hi, hello, it me) during my time as a PA-S.

PASPAC offers a comprehensive collection of resources for didactic and clinical year. This includes sources geared toward EOR / PANCE preparation, and resources designed to help you evaluate your study style, as well as other helpful materials such as practice questions and exams and other topics ranging from anatomy & pathophysiology to impressing your preceptors.

Prepare for Landing:

New Grad Resources

Wanting to begin your job search and want to be prepared...but have no idea where to start? PASPAC Podcast will help you with that! Check out our resources and posts on how to search for your first job, create a resume, build a professional portfolio, land and prepare for interviews, negotiate your salary, understand credentialing and licensing requirements, find CME opportunities and more.

Admire the sheer number of available resources here, but don't be overwhelmed.

Start with a few and build from there.

It's important to remember that it's not necessary for you to learn everything at once. Think of the resources available here as a starting point, find a few key areas of interest before moving on to others.

You'll also want to make sure that what you're doing here resonates with where you are on your journey to getting that "dash C" or maintaining that "dash C", so don't feel pressure to access resources in order, in entirety, or at all! If there are topics within PASPAC that don't seem relevant or exciting right now, try looking into them later down the road when they may become more relevant and engaging for you personally.

Prepare For Landing:

This is just the beginning!

PASPAC has a lot more to share with you, so follow us Instagram for daily updates, questions, being the first to find out when the Podcast launches, and more. Feel free to subscribe on our website for email updates and access to more exclusive content. If you want to learn about what else we have in store for you as a student or certified physician assistant, be sure to check out our other posts as we update them.

So sit back, relax, and thank you for choosing PASPAC, your audio & web passport from PA-S to PA-C

- Rebecca Harrell, MPA, PA-C
